Dead Horse Point State Park offers a breathtaking panorama of the lower canyon terrain carved by the meandering Colorado River. The viewpoint is situated at the tip of a slender peninsula located within the park, presenting a dramatic overlook of the rugged landscape. The name of this park is steeped in local lore, tracing back to a time when cowboys corralled wild mustangs onto the peninsula, enclosed by a temporary fence. They would select the horses they wished to tame and supposedly leave the rest to find their way back to the open mesa. However, the legend concludes with a somber note: on one occasion, the gate was not reopened, leading to the tragic demise of the forsaken mustangs due to lack of water. This poignant tale adds a layer of historical mystique to the already striking natural beauty of the area.
This panoramic print measures 13"x24" with an image size of 11"x22". The title and artist's name are printed at the bottom center of the 1" white border.
