Secret Passageway - Original
Secret Passageway - Original
The Native American tribes of the Southwest, adept at navigating the challenging terrain of the region, presented a formidable challenge to the U.S. Cavalry during the 19th century. The vast canyons, mountains, and deserts of the Southwest were home to these tribes for centuries, and their intimate knowledge of the land made them elusive to the U.S. forces. It wasn't until the Cavalry employed Native American scouts that they began to see success.
The painting captures a moment of stealth and strategy, as the three warriors navigate through the serpentine twists of a slot canyon. The midday sun casts a kaleidoscope of colors on the sculpted walls, a testament to the natural artistry of erosion. This artwork not only portrays a scene of quiet tension but also celebrates the raw beauty of the landscape, inviting the viewer to appreciate the interplay of light, shadow, and the enduring spirit of the warriors.
Oil on canvas, the original 'Secret Passageway' measures 18" x 36" and will make a colorful addition to your collection.
